LikaLika Cushion Bag Review: Carrier and Bed in One

The LikaLika Cushion Bag worked especially well for outings where I wanted one item to serve as both a dog carrier and a resting spot. Instead of packing a separate mat for a café visit, I could set the carrier down and let Louie stay inside it comfortably.

Louie is a 3.18 kg (about 7 lb) Yorkshire Terrier with a 24 cm (9.4 in) back. He is also sensitive to his surroundings, so secure attachment points, visibility, and enough room to change positions matter more to me than simply having a lightweight carrier.

There is also a closure near the top that helps prevent the bag from spreading open while it is being carried.

The shoulder pad is wide and cushioned, and its two-part Velcro design makes it easier to organize the straps. A longer strap is also included for crossbody use.

One small real-world detail surprised me. A few drops of water fell from a tree onto the bag after rain, and the water stayed beaded on the surface rather than immediately soaking in. I did not test the bag in sustained rain, so I would not treat that observation as proof that it is waterproof.

The Hidden Mesh Cover Was Useful at the Café

The mesh cover can extend up to about 15 cm (5.9 in) and stores inside the bag when it is not needed.

That storage design keeps the carrier looking open during normal use without requiring me to remove and carry a separate mesh piece.

At the café, there were moments when Louie became more alert to what was happening around him. Closing the mesh let me keep him contained while still seeing him clearly.

He could also see me through it. The mesh extended high enough that his upright Yorkie ears were not pressed down when the cover was closed.

For a dog that becomes overstimulated in busy environments, I found this feature more useful than a permanently open tote-style carrier.

Storage Is Practical for Longer Outings

The bag has six storage pockets: four inside and two magnetic pockets on the outside.

That gave me space to keep smaller dog supplies and personal items together instead of carrying another pouch.

The rear section also opens so the bag can slide over a suitcase handle. That makes the design interesting for travel, although I have not personally tested this carrier on a flight.

The bag itself weighs about 750 g (1.65 lb). If you are considering it for air travel, remember that airlines may limit both carrier dimensions and the combined weight of your dog and carrier.

How I Used the LikaLika Cool Pouch in Hot Weather

Because we are currently staying in Malaysia, cooling products are part of many of our outings.

Louie does not like ice-cold surfaces directly against his body. Instead of putting the LikaLika Cool Pouch directly beside him, I placed it between the carrier and the interior cushion.

That setup gave me another option for positioning the cooling pack without forcing Louie to lie against something very cold.

The pouch was large enough to hold the two ice packs I already used. Its outer fabric is a Tencel-and-cotton blend, while the inside uses air mesh.

• prefer multiple internal tether positions

• want a carrier that can slide over a suitcase handle
• have a small dog that likes a padded, flexible resting area

There are also a few things I would check before buying.

Because the sides are designed to soften and spread when the bag is set down, owners specifically looking for a rigid, box-shaped carrier may prefer a different design. Measure your dog rather than choosing by weight alone, especially if your dog has a long back or likes to stretch out.

For air travel, I would also confirm the airline’s exact carrier dimensions before purchasing. I have used this bag for everyday outings but have not yet personally tested it as an in-cabin airline carrier.

My Take After Using It With Louie

The feature that made the LikaLika Cushion Bag useful for us was not simply its appearance or the number of pockets. It was what happened after I stopped carrying it.

At the café, the same bag became Louie’s padded place to sit, turn around, watch his surroundings, and relax. The hidden mesh gave me another way to manage him when he became sensitive to activity around us, while the cool pouch could be positioned without putting an ice pack directly against his body.
