MONGZE Airnet Pet Bed Review After 2.5 Years of Use

I started using the MONGZE Airnet Pet Bed in February 2024, when my Yorkshire Terrier, Louie, was about six months old. More than two and a half years later, it is still the dog bed he uses most.

What makes this bed different from the plush beds I have bought is its firm, springy sleeping surface. It does not collapse deeply under Louie’s weight, yet it has enough give to feel comfortable when he lies down.

For a small dog that moves on and off his bed throughout the day, I have also found the low height, washable interior, and long-term shape retention especially practical.

The Firm Surface Was the Main Reason I Chose It

Many dog beds focus on softness. The MONGZE bed feels different.

Its Airnet interior supports Louie without letting his body sink deeply into the mattress. When he sits down, changes position, or runs onto the bed, the sleeping surface compresses slightly and then returns to its shape.

That was exactly what I wanted for his main bed. I wanted something comfortable enough for sleeping but stable enough that he would not have to push himself out of a deep cushion whenever he stood up.

Louie had several beds in my bedroom when he was a puppy, and I let him choose where he wanted to sleep. Although he moved between them, the MONGZE bed became the one he chose most often.

That behavior mattered more to me than how comfortable the bed looked to a person.

The 5 cm Height Works Well for a Small Dog

The Airnet sleeping surface is about 5 cm high, so Louie can step onto it without making a large jump.

He sometimes sleeps in a stretched-out “Superman” position with his belly on the mattress while his chest and front legs extend over the edge. Because the bed is low, he can do this without his body appearing sharply bent over a tall mattress edge.

The bottom also has a non-slip surface. In our home, the bed stays in place even when Louie runs onto it quickly.

When Louie was younger, I placed the bed next to my platform bed. The combination of the low mattress and side bolster was convenient enough that he could also use it as an intermediate step when getting onto my bed.

Why the Dog Bed Eventually Moved Onto My Bed

Originally, I wanted the MONGZE bed to remain beside my bed.

Louie had another idea.

Even when I brought him onto my bed to sleep with me, he frequently climbed back down and settled into the MONGZE bed. Eventually, I moved the entire pet bed onto my bed next to me and placed another piece of furniture below for him to use as a step.

Now he can sleep in his preferred bed while staying right beside me.

The beige fabric and simple shape also make the bed look more like neutral home furniture than a brightly colored pet product, which I appreciate in a bedroom.

How Has It Held Up After 2.5 Years?

Durability is probably the part of this MONGZE Airnet Pet Bed review that surprised me most.

Louie does not treat his bed delicately. He runs onto it and sometimes scratches at the surface before lying down. Even after more than two and a half years, the Airnet interior has not developed an obvious permanent dip in the area where he normally sleeps.

I also have an extra cover and rotate the two. So far, neither the mattress nor the covers has reached the point where I feel they need to be replaced.

For me, that makes the higher upfront cost easier to justify than a bed that needs frequent replacement because the center flattens.

Being Able to Wash the Inside Is a Major Advantage

A removable cover is useful, but I prefer being able to clean more than just the surface of a dog bed.

I wash the cover about once a week. Because we live in a hot, humid climate, I also rinse the Airnet insert in the shower roughly every two weeks.

The side bolster contains a thick filling. I usually air it in the sun when I wash the cover and wash the bolster itself about once a month. After repeated cleaning, it has remained full rather than becoming noticeably flat or lumpy.

The ability to clean the interior is one of the biggest reasons I have continued using this bed as Louie’s main sleeping space.

The One Drawback I Have Found

My only recurring frustration appears after washing the cover.

Getting both ends of the thick side bolster completely back into the fitted cover can be awkward, especially because I have relatively large hands. It is not a serious problem, but replacing the cover takes more effort than it does on a simple flat dog cushion.

Ironically, that same thick, gently sloping bolster is one of the features Louie uses most. Depending on his sleeping position, he rests his chin or body against different parts of it.

So I would not want to remove the feature just to make the cover easier to install.

Is the MONGZE Airnet Pet Bed Worth It?

After more than two and a half years, I would buy this style of bed again for Louie.

I think it makes the most sense for owners who want a low, supportive dog bed that does not feel overly plush, especially if easy cleaning and long-term shape retention are priorities.

It may be less appealing if your dog strongly prefers deep, fluffy beds or if you want the quickest possible cover changes.

For Louie, however, the most convincing review is simply how often he chooses it. He has had access to softer beds, but the MONGZE has remained his main sleeping spot from puppyhood into adulthood.
